Walking/Working Surface Assessments: Tribometry – The Science of Slip and Fall Prevention
Tribometry is used to provide a guide to aid in the prevention of slip and fall accidents and assist in the elimination, reduction, and/or control of such hazards.
McCulley, Eastham & Associates, Inc. performs WWS assessments by:
• An analysis of your current needs in regards to Walking/ Working Surface safety management.
• Development of Walking/ Working Surface policies and procedures specific to your facility.
• Training for management personnel on slip/ trip and fall liability issues, due diligence, and prevention measures.
• Training for employees on Walking/ Working Surfaces and slip, trip and fall requirements and employee responsibilities.
• Identification of floor area by usage.
• Slip resistance testing of hard floors during initial review and at a determined frequency. The results of testing are then used to develop a floor slip resistance (COF-Coefficient of Friction) database with determination of acceptable floor surfaces for the facility.
• Walking/ Working Surface program review report provided upon slip resistance testing of hard floors.
